The Best UFO Pictures Ever Taken,1990-1999

August 18, 2009 / 5808

1991 Grangemouth, Scotland-It was on 12th November 1991, at around 9.30pm, that friends Phil Trevis (previously known as Peter Muir, a pseudonym used in previous SPI accounts) and Paul Penman (pseudonym) were out taking photographs for a project called ‘Light and Dark’. The following is the written testimony by Phil Trevis, as given to SPI.
“My friend and I were taking photographs of the BP chemicals plant in Grangemouth (from Polmont Reservoir) when we noticed a dim, or rather, two small dim flashing lights over by the two ‘flashing pylons’ at Kincardine Bridge. We watched the object, which we thought was a helicopter, fly slowly over from the bridge to above the brightly lit Grangemouth Stadium. We watched it hover for around five minutes. It was then that we noticed that the ‘craft’ wasn’t making any noise. Normally, if it was a helicopter, we would have heard the blades. It then turned around and faced our direction. Read more …

UFO on the Moon in Apollo Days-Debunked? Review

August 16, 2009 / 7600

In on the in Apollo Days? You decide I posted a photograph that is alleged to be an official photograph showing a observing activities of Apollo 14 in 1971.

I had searched the GRIN (Great Images in ) database for both numbers assigned to the photo, as well as performing a web search. I was unable to find any photo online with those numbers, although they are apparently sequence numbers.

Of course, not all photos may be online. So I dug a little deeper.

Shown above is an authentic Apollo 14 image (#AS14-66-9306). Look at the lower right–see the bursts of color? Another photo?

Nope.

It shows Antares on the Frau Mauro Highlands on Feb. 5, 1971. And here’s the explanation provided:

A front view of the Apollo 14 Lunar Module “Antares”, which reflects a circular flare caused by the brilliant sun. The unusual ball of light was said by the astronauts to have a jewel-like appearance. At extreme left, the lower slope of Cone Crater can be seen.

For good measure, I found another Apollo 14 photo with lights nearby. This is #AS14-67-9367. cropped to accent the lights in the right corner. Read more …

Foreword Written by Christian Pfeiler (UFO Info)

Christian Pfeiler UfologicHello and welcome to the fourteenth issue of the magazine

It comes late, but it comes . Sorry again for the delay - especially to all readers from the online archive who haven´t read my first apology - but it was really impossible for me to finish the magazine this month in time. Unfortunately, research is not the kind of job which you´re paid for (except you´re a famous author, an actor or an FBI agent ) so all researchers have to do a normal job and to live a normal life and sometimes there is too much to do in this normal life so that we don´t have enough time for the business (I think most of my colleagues will agree.) However, I´m a little bit worried about the decrease of the number of pages and articles and also about the decrease of the quality of my own articles. When I look back on previous issues, we had sometimes over 30 pages and 14 or 15 articles from various contributers, but the last two or three issues were pretty small with just a few articles. Security Council Condemnation of North Korean “UFO” Deepens Korean Crisis

Gavan Mccormack: Security Council Condemnation of North Korean “UFO” Deepens Korean CrisisGavan McCormack

On 13 April (14 April East Asian time), Claude Heller, the Mexican president of the United Nations Security Council read a “Statement” on behalf of the Council. He condemned North Korea for something described as a “launch” it had conducted on 5 April, demanded it desist from any further such act, reaffirmed the principles of a 2006 Security Council resolution (No 1718, adopted in the wake of North Korea’s missile and nuclear tests of 2006, banning any “missile-related activity”), directed the UN Sanctions Monitoring Committee to take further steps to secure compliance and to advise on possibly widening the sanctions list, and called for early resumption of the Beijing Six Party negotiations on the North Korean problem.

Notably, the Council nowhere spelled out what North Korea might have launched, for the simple reason that its members could not agree: some thought missile, some thought satellite. Unable to agree on a noun, it therefore compromised with the verb “launch.” The Council’s strong and peremptory diplomatic language - “condemns,” “demands,” etc – was therefore oddly out of kilter with its inability to decide what it was condemning. Essentially it was saying North Korea was not to launch any more unidentified flying objects, or “.” Whatever it was you launched,” said the Security Council in effect, you should not have and you must not do it again.” Read more …
