Silent Hill: Homecoming Hands-On, Poster, Previews & Features, Images, Trailer and Interview

Konami’s survival series makes its first appearance on the Xbox 360 and PS3 soon. We shuffled along to the company’s booth for a new hands-on.

Even in the hustle and bustle of a busy convention centre, there’s something unsettling about playing . From the creepy intro to the grainy look of the game overall, we had an enjoyably scary time playing it on the Xbox 360 at this year’s Leipzig Games Convention.

The demo itself was similar to the one that we played at this year’s E3, but we were able play a different level of the game in Germany. It started with us viewing through the eyes of the protagonist, who was strapped down to a medical stretcher that was being led through a hospital. Silent Hill - Trailer (Comedy), Poster Movie, Definition and More

(サイレントヒル, Sairento Hiru?) is a survival game franchise developed and published by Konami. As of 2008, most installments have been created by Team Silent with the exception of two titles, : Origins by Climax Studios and : Homecoming by Double Helix games.

There are currently five main games (with a sixth under production), all of which were released to strong sales and critical acclaim.[citation needed] The success of these games has generated a series of comic books, a film adaptation (with a second under development), and novelizations.

Common features in the games include and action-adventure elements, detailed and disturbing environments, a chilling soundtrack provided by series composer Akira Yamaoka, and a complex storyline revealed through numerous cinematic cut scenes, in-game documents and in-game notes. Each game unfolds like a movie with several possible endings; the player’s choices during the game determine which ending is shown.

(2006)

Not to be confused with novelization of the film released the same year and under the same title
Novelization of the first game of the series by Sadamu Yamashita only released in Japanese. It is divided into three chapters: Fog, Darkness and Nightmare. Read more …
