Ghosts: Historical background All Information (12 Pics)
October 29, 2009 / 8516
According to some, the belief in ghosts as souls of the departed is closely related to the ancient concept of animism, which attributed souls to everything in nature, including human beings, animals, plants, rocks, etc. Nineteenth-century anthropologist James Frazer stated in his classic work, The Golden Bough, that souls were seen as the creature within that animated the body:
“If a man lives and moves, it can only be because he has a little man or animal inside, who moves him. The animal inside the animal, the man inside the man, is the soul. And as the activity of an animal or man is explained by the presence of the soul, so the repose of sleep or death is explained by its absence; sleep or trance being the temporary, death being the permanent absence of the soul… ” Read more …

Chronicles of a Ghost-Huntress (Paranormal)
June 26, 2009 / 32056
Today I am heading to the legendary Preston Castle in Ione, CA for a private tour and investigation. I have heard many amazing stories about this place and can’t wait to check it out for myself.
I pack my equipment which includes my Samsung digital camera, Sony digital recorder, K-II and spirit box, checking to make sure I have extra batteries for all as I wait for my cohort Yana to arrive.
I will be doing the driving as usual; I am not a good passenger and always insist on driving. Yana arrives as I am mapping out today’s route. After loading her gear into my trunk we hit 99 North toward Ione our first stop will be Preston Castle. Read more …

Texas Court Approves Traumatic Exorcisms!
October 6, 2008 / 4734
Well now…if you’ve had a hankerin’ to torture, abuse, and do who knows what else to people at your whim, here’s what you do: move on down to Texas and set up a religion. The Texas Supreme Court just ruled on a case in which a young woman was subjected to extreme distress and restraint during a church-run exorcism (isn’t that insane enough right there? An exorcism in 21st century America?), and they threw the previous judgment against the church out. Why? Because holding a church liable for psychological damage “would have an unconstitutional ‘chilling effect’ by compelling the church to abandon core principles of its religious beliefs.”
Damn right it would. Holding religion accountable for the stupidity perpetuated by it certainly should send a shiver down the spines of hordes of witch-doctors and mullahs and priests and other such folk with a vested interest in superstition. Read more …
Paranormal Research, Paranormal Image, Ghost and Me
October 3, 2008 / 864

By definition, paranormal phenomena exist outside of conventional norms. Skeptics contend that they don’t exist at all.
Despite this challenge, studies on the paranormal are periodically conducted by researchers all from various disciplines. Some researchers study just the beliefs in paranormal phenomena regardless of whether the phenomena actually exist. Read more …
