The film is set in 1962 and will focus on the relationship between Professor X and Magneto and the origin of their groups, the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants. The film stars James McAvoy as Professor X and Michael Fassbender as Magneto. Other cast members include Kevin Bacon, January Jones, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Zoe Kravitz, and Lucas Till. The film was mostly shot in England and parts of the United States. Fox envisions this film as the first in a new trilogy.

The film is a prequel to the first three movies, set in 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis. X-Men: First Class parallels the history of the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Civil Rights Movement. The villains of the film will be the Hellfire Club. The plot is as follows:

“X-MEN FIRST CLASS charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.”

Development: In April 2006, one month before the release of X-Men: The Last Stand, writer Zak Penn revealed he was contracted to write and direct a spin-off. He later explained in 2007 that “the original idea was to have me do a young X-Men spin-off, a spin-off of the young X-Men characters. But someone came up with a pretty interesting idea [...] it was this guy who worked with me named Mike Chamoy, he worked a lot with me on X3. He came up with how to do a young X-Men movie which is not what you’d expect.” Penn compared the idea to the comic book series X-Men: First Class, and Josh Schwartz was writing the screenplay in May 2008. Schwartz’s writing assignment also included the possibility of directing of X-Men: First Class, but Fox approached Bryan Singer, director of X-Men and X2, in October 2009. The original idea was to green-light the film depending on the success of X-Men Origins: Magneto, but Singer added elements of the Magneto spin-off, merged into a new script by Jamie Moss. In addition to Moss, Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz were hired to rewrite the script.

Miller compared it tonally to Singer’s work on the first two X-Men films. Singer dropped out of the director’s position in March 2010 due to his commitment to a Jack the Giant Killer adaptation. He formalized his duties from director to producer. Matthew Vaughn signed on as Singer’s replacement in May 2010. With his hiring, Fox announced a June 3, 2011 release date, and Jane Goldman was hired for another rewrite. Vaughn wanted to model X-Men: First Class after the 2009 Star Trek film, taking the franchise in a new direction with a fresh, young cast. An action scene that was to have been set in a dream sequence with revolving rooms was scrapped after the release of Inception. The 1960s setting of X-Men: First Class will be technologically inspired by the James Bond films of that era, also adding to the international feel of the characters. The X-Men costumes will look much more as they did in the original comics compared with the first three films. Stan Lee will not have a cameo, due to most of the film being filmed in England.

SEQUEL: Fox envisions X-Men: First Class as the first film of a new trilogy. Donner compared the franchise plans to be similar to the darker, more mature content of the Harry Potter film series. While speaking about the sequels, director Matthew Vaughn said that “First Class is similar to Batman Begins, where you have the fun of introducing the characters and getting to know them, but that takes time. But with the second one you can just get on with it and have a rollicking good time. Not every book here is necessarily of the horror genre, but is included as a means of diversifying the list and showcasing other reads fans might very well love. All boast some element endemic — but not exclusive — to horror books, be it atmosphere, characterization, narrative tropes or something else entirely. And do please quell that rage over inclusions or exclusions. Literature is subjective. This isn’t some be-all, end-all of book recommendations, merely one reader’s opinion of millions.

1. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley: This epistolary classic continues to ravish pop culture, showing absolutely no signs of stopping whatsoever. Dr. Frankenstein and his existential monster both rightfully became some of the most visceral icons of the horror genre.
2. Dracula by Bram Stoker: While not the first vampire novel ever penned, Dracula is indisputably the most popular example of the genre. The eponymous monster stands at the center of a pretty comprehensive reflection of Victorian sex and gender mores.
3. The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson: Robert Louis Stevenson dug deeply into the most disturbing corners of the human psyche when sculpting this terrifying story of dual identities. Horror fans looking to take their novels with two additional shots of crime and science-fiction would do well to seek out this classic thriller — if they haven’t already, of course.

1.The Texas Chain Saw Massacre:

“Even if one of them survives, what will be left?” Tobe Hooper’s 1974 film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (it wasn’t spelled Chainsaw until the sequels) was a pioneer in the slasher genre and instantly influenced the entire horror field. It’s credited with popularizing a number of now-standard tropes for slasher flicks, including the plight of the “final girl,” who is left to fight the killer or flee for her life after her friends have been picked off one by one. More than that, though, the film championed a new aesthetic that’s still in use today: industrial grunge. The iconic Leatherface wasn’t hunting his prey in a sleek city environment, a well-groomed suburb, or even a nicely tended piece of country land. He’s chasing his victims through a grimy, run-down house and barn, one that’s cluttered with old junk and the rotting remnants of previous kills. The Saw franchise and the whole vibe of Nine Inch Nails wouldn’t exist without Texas Chain Saw Massacre. It’s down and dirty, and it also took horror in new directions by having a killer motivated not by revenge or psychological trauma but by sheer creepy insanity. Leatherface’s family is just plain weird, which is often scarier than anything.

2.Night of the Living Dead:

The first entry in George Romero’s Living Dead series is still, in many ways, the best. Appearing in 1968 and made for a ridiculously cheap $114,000, the film revolutionized horror and specifically zombie movies for decades to come. Shot in stark black and white, the film is a departure from the often cheesy thrillers that had filled movie theaters in earlier years. Psychological terror wasn’t new, but the idea of taking zombies and other monsters so seriously certainly was. There’s no way to laugh off the undead killers in Night of the Living Dead; this isn’t a low-stakes, wacky frightfest. This is a full-on horror film, designed to be shocking, and it definitely achieves its goals. The movie made it safe to believe in monsters, and it pulled supernatural horror that much closer to the mainstream. If you’ve never seen it, you’re missing a classic.

All of their searching left Kitana with lingering questions she could not answer. But on a cold night in the Edenian forests, the sisters found King Jerrod in hiding. Before Mileena callously killed him, he revealed to Kitana that she looked very much like her mother, and that he was her father. Now fueled by the knowledge that her life with Shao Kahn may have been a lie, she returned to Jerrod’s abandoned castle, left as it was when Baraka invaded many years earlier. Within the castle walls, her mother’s soul presented Kitana with visions of what she had witnessed before ending her life: Jerrod cradling baby Kitana, Shang Tsung taking Kitana’s blood to create Mileena, Baraka killing Jerrod’s knight, and Queen Sindel herself taking her own life.

Now that her real father’s dying words were confirmed in her eyes, and as Shao Kahn revealed plans to merge Earthrealm with Outworld, Kitana silently harbored a desire for vengeance against the Emperor, who remained unaware of her recent discovery.

Jerrod’s wife, Queen Sindel, cradled their child as the castle was attacked by the Tarkatans. A knight, posing as the king, tried valiantly to protect his queen and her daughter but Baraka killed him before they could escape. Shao Kahn became the new Edenian ruler, taking Sindel and her daughter, Kitana, as his own. The real King Jerrod never returned to Edenia as it once was.

But Shao Kahn was frustrated that Sindel and Kitana would never return the love that he truly felt for them, so he enlisted Shang Tsung to create an identical daughter who would. Baby Kitana was cloned, her twin sister, Mileena, a half-human half-Tarkatan. Afraid Kahn would corrupt Kitana’s soul, Sindel took her own life so that her soul could merge with her daughter’s, and Kahn began raising Kitana and her twin sister to believe in his cause. Years later, Mileena grew jealous of her sister’s close relationship with their father, unable to control the violence and anger of her Tarkatan heritage. As they grew older, Kahn trained them in the art of combat, both possessing immense skill and a maturing ability to deceive.

In the present day, Johnny is pitching a new crime-fighting reality show called You Got Caged to two TV executives. They are both unimpressed, spouting off clichéd arguments about their target demographic and their reluctance for martial arts and reality shows. But an insistent Cage earns himself a second chance to convince them that he and the show are bankable.

Three weeks later and Johnny has re-shot a mature trailer for You Got Caged with a gritter, realistic style of violence. The executives are once again uninterested, this time cutting the entire project and releasing Johnny from his network contract. A dejected Cage leaves the meeting and walks onto the set of a new production, overhearing the same executives pitching his exact idea to a new female action star under the name You Got Saved. Enraged, Johnny attacks one of the executives and several security guards. Then suddenly, time literally freezes around him, leaving everyone else in a state of suspended animation. One other figure remains invulnerable to the anomaly. Shang Tsung approaches Cage and offers him “a way out of everything”.

Jax, still demanding to know where Sonya is being held, engages another fist fight with Kano, who continues to taunt him with threats against Sonya. Jax severely beats Kano, dislodging his eyeball. Sonya arrives to see Kano unconscious and Jax resting. She takes out one final henchman but not before he tosses a grenade towards her partner. Jax rises and runs towards Sonya to keep her safe from the blast.

A week later, Sonya wakes in a hospital intensive care unit. Stryker tells her that the Black Dragon got to Kano before his team could and Jax sustained serious injuries in the process. Damage to his arms required him to be sent to a special medical facility at the Department of Defense where they “have a plan”.
Following the beating, a backroom surgical team prepares Kano for an emergency eye procedure, removing the remnants of skull around his right eye socket and rebuilding it with metal plates. A mechanical arm completes the procedure, inserting a cybernetic eye. As Kano awakens, his new eye glows red.

It is then revealed that Sonya had been captured shortly before transmitting her report to Jax and that Kano delayed its transmission for two days, allowing the shipment to take place. Unaware that the report they received is two days old, Jax and Stryker’s men head to the warehouse where Kano is planning an ambush.

When the police arrive, a shoot-out ensues between them and Kano’s men, who are using advanced weaponry. Jax separates from the group to search for Sonya but finds Kano instead, who engages a fistfight. Kano picks up a grenade launcher during the fight and accidentally fires off a round. The blast separates Kano and Jax. Sonya is chained to the ceiling just below where the grenade exploded. The blast is enough to weaken her bonds, allowing her to escape.
