Paula Sladewski’s romantic New Year’s Eve getaway to Miami turned into a horror show.

The stunning Playboy model’s was found burning in a dumpster - and cops have reportedly named her boyfriend a person of interest in the grisly death.

The beauty’s body was burned beyond recognition, the paper reports. It wasn’t until Tuesday night that she was ID’d using dental records.

Sladewski and her boyfriend Kevin Klym, 34, who resided in both Michigan and California, had traveled to Florida to ring in the New Year with a Lady Gaga concert and a weekend of bar-hopping.

She was last seen in the early morning hours at the nightspot Club Space, where she’d gotten into a fight with Klym.

Klym told cops his girlfriend was “too drunk,” the newspaper reports, and he tried to convince her to leave the bar.

After the ensuing screaming match, he said, bouncers tossed him out - and he took a cab back to their swanky digs at a Miami Beach hotel.

When she failed to return, he filed a missing person’s report according to the Miami Herald, several hours after the burning Dumpster was reported.

News of an altercation between the couple was no surprise to Sladewski’s step-father, Richard Watkins.

They had “very volatile relationship,” he told the Miami Herald.

CBSNews.com says the family told reporters Klym had broken Sladewski’s nose.

Court records in California also reportedly show Sladewski had domestic violence charges filed against her last summer.

Sladewski appeared in the 2003 video “Playboy: The Ultimate Playmate Search,” according to the online movie Web site IMDB.com. Her step-father said she was trying to break into modeling. Read more …

Waiting For Armageddon 2010 - Official Poster, Synopsis and Trailer HQ

January 7, 2010 / 14608

waiting-for-armageddon-2010-official-poster-synopsis-and-trailer-hqWaiting for Armageddon explores the culture of 50 million American Evangelicals who believe that Bible prophecy dictates the future of mankind and that Israel and the Jewish people play pivotal roles in ensuring Christ’s return. The film raises questions regarding how this theology shapes U.S.- Middle East relations and how it may even encourage an international holy war.

Using intimate portraits and archival footage to explore how literal belief in Biblical prophecy – including the Rapture and Armageddon – exerts a dangerous influence on U.S. relations in the Middle East, Waiting for Armageddon tells its story through the eyes of three evangelical families who are certain that upon Christ’s Second Coming they will be “raptured” or lifted into the skies to join Christ while the rest of humanity suffers for seven years during “The Tribulation.”

The film then follows a Christian Study Tour group to Israel – among the tens of thousands of Evangelicals who pour into the Holy Land each year. The tourists are baptized in the River Jordon, sing the US national anthem on the Sea of Galilee, proclaim love for Israel, and describe how the Dome of the Rock, one of the holiest sites in Islam, must be destroyed in order for Jesus to return. A controversial, potentially explosive relationship between Christian Evangelicals, Jews, and Muslims emerges. At an evangelical conference in Dallas, Texas, the film’s characters urge others to spread Biblical literalism and counter the dangerous effects of post-modernism. The climax of the gathering comes as Pastor John Hagee, the enormously influential Texas Minister of an 18,000-member mega-church, declares, “World War III has started.”

Now that I’ve got your attention about worthy local film happenings, you might want to head over to Waltham tomorrow to Brandeis University where Jewishfilm2009, the fine film festival annually organized by the National Center for Jewish Film, opens with the infuriating and frightening documentary “Waiting for Armageddon” by Franco Sacchi, Kate Davis and David Heilbroner (all three of whom will attend the screening, introduced by Professor Jonathan Sarna of Brandeis).

My first impression watching the film is — do we really have to pay attention any more to these clowns after the last election? Here are all the fundamentalist wing nuts again, trotting out their end of days prophecies, their hatreds and perverted interpretations of history and current events. “Then you had Nazis celebrating the Aryan Race and denigrating the Jews,” says one complacent face. “Now you have multiculturalists celebrating the feminists and gay lifestyle and denigrating European males.” Read more …

Batman Begins composers Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard returned to score the sequel. Composition began before shooting, and during filming Nolan received an iPod with ten hours of recordings.

Their nine-minute suite for the Joker is based around two notes. Zimmer compared its style to that of Kraftwerk, a band from his native Germany, as well to bands like The Damned.

When Ledger died, Zimmer felt like scrapping and composing a new theme, but decided that he could not be sentimental and compromise the “evil [performance] projects”.

Howard composed Dent’s “elegant and beautiful” themes, which are brass-focused.

was ranked the 15th greatest film in history on Empire’s 2008 list of the “500 Greatest Movies of All Time”, based upon the weighted votes of 10,000 readers, 150 film directors, and 50 key film critics.

January 5, 2010 / 13082

Last year, as Lieut. Walter Haut who was a PR officer at Roswell Military Base in New Mexico, passed away, the letter he left to be opened after his death, was opened.

In this letter, Lieut. Haut claimed that 60 years ago, Capt. William Blanchard in the same Military base, took him to the hangar no.84 where he saw the 5m long and 2 m wide egg shaped UFO which had crushed near the military base. In the hangar also were two extra terrestrial beings, 120 cm long with big heads. Lieut.

Haut also observed that the material the UFO was made of, was paper-thin but extremely strong. He further explained in his letter that, US could develop the night-binoculars, laser, integrated chips and spy planes and Kevlan (a bullet proof material) after the crush of this UFO with the help of knowledge derived from it.

Some years ago BBC also made public a film, taken with an amateur camera on the spot, which revealed the same and also how the surgeons operated on the extra terrestrial beings. Read more …
