The Lost Continent of Atlantis: A Extended Review
December 3, 2008 / 78313
Plato gave the world the oldest remaining written account of Atlantis, in Critias, recorded circa 370 BC. “Critias” was a fictionalized transcript of information from “Critias the Younger, ” an apparently real Greek nobleman who lived at the same time as Plato.
By Plato’s account, Poseidon, god of the sea, sired five pairs of male twins with mortal women. Poseidon appointed the eldest of these sons, Atlas the Titan, ruler of his beautiful island domain. Atlas became the personification of the mountains or pillars that held up the sky. Plato described Atlantis as a vast island-continent west of the mediterranean, surrounded by the Atlantic ocean. The Greek word Atlantis means the island of Atlas, just as the word Atlantic means the ocean of Atlas. Atlantis was governed in peace, was rich in commerce, was advanced in knowledge, and held dominion over the surrounding islands and continents. By Plato’s legend, the people of Atlantis became complacent and their leaders arrogant; in punishment the Gods destroyed Atlantis, flooding it and submerging the island in one day and night. Amazin! Rare Squid ‘with elbows’ Caught on Camera (We Have The Video)
November 30, 2008 / 2450
The squid was spotted a mile and a half below the surface of the Gulf of Mexico at an oil and gas drilling site off the coast of Houston, Texas.
The footage, recorded on a remote-controlled camera, shows the creature’s long tentacles hanging at right angles from shoulder-like “arms” jutting out of its body.
The magnapinna’s peculiar arrangement of limbs has baffled marine biologists since the deep-sea species was first identified in 1998.
One theory is that the elbows help prevent the squid’s tentacles from becoming tangled, as it drags them along the seabed trawling for food. Others suggest that the squid waits for prey to collide with and get trapped among its sticky limbs.

Time Traveling Machine! An UFO Story
November 28, 2008 / 12610
I received a tip from HPI Paranormal Investigator-in-Training, Nancy Towne, she came across a Mr. U, who claims to own a time traveling machine called a Hyper-Dimensional Resonator. This machine which costs roughly $300.00 is able to transport you into time, either in your astral form or physically. I have heard of this machine, that was created by Steven L. Gibbs. Steven L. Gibbs was a guest on Coast-to-Coast AM with Art Bell. In fact he had given Art Bell one of these machines. Basically, the theory of this time traveling machine is that it can disrupt the electromagnetic waves similar to the infamous Philadelphia Experiment, in which a 36 gun sailing frigate actually disappeared in what appeared to be green fog and rematerialized in another area miles away. When they went on board the USS Philadelphia, they found that some of the crew members had their bodies fused into the interior body of the ship. The sailors that survived this ordeal went mad and all were eventually institutionalized.
The Hyper-Dimensional Resonator works on a lower level of disruption of the space/time continuum.
This machine comes with an instruction manual warning the reader that during periods of time traveling, they could enter other dimensions or even encounter a demon, in which they could become possessed.
It even gives the antidote for demon possession. One of the best ways to use this machine, is by first
locating a dimensional vortex nearby using dowsing rods. When you discovered the vortex, turn the
machine on, place the electrical wiring headband on, think of the time period you would be most comfortable at and start rubbing the ‘rubbing plate’ for either astral or physical transportation. The
machine is equipped with a ‘witness well’, in which a crystal is placed in this well to identify the user. How
did the inventor Steven L. Gibbs come up with the idea of this machine? He claims to have been visited
by a futuristic time traveler, that gave him the instructions for this black metallic machine that is
connected to a large electro magnet. Read more …
Loch Ness Mystery Noise ‘Unsolved’
October 8, 2008 / 1291
Residents on the shores of Loch Ness are having their sleep disturbed by a mystery humming noise similar to that which sparked a spate of calls to a council in Suffolk.
Mikko Takala, who lives in a cottage overlooking the loch near Drumnadrochit where he runs a webcam site tracking the elusive Loch Ness Monster, has been having sleepless nights for weeks.
His mother, who lives with him, and a near neighbour have also been woken in the wee sma’ hours by the same strange humming noise, which one blue blooded Suffolk resident, Lord Philips of Sudbury, said could be mistaken for a spacecraft landing. Read more …
Ripper ‘Claimed Earlier Victims’
October 7, 2008 / 1641
Submitted by Waspie Dwarf: Jack the Ripper may have killed his first victim 25 years earlier than previously thought, a retired murder detective has claimed in a new book.
It is thought that Jack the Ripper killed and mutilated at least five prostitutes in the East End between August and November 1888. But Trevor Marriott says he may have struck in 1863 and 1872.
Mr Marriott will be presenting his findings at the Docklands Museum which is hosting an exhibition on the killer.
Bodies unattended: The body of 28-year-old prostitute Emma Jackson was found in a brothel in St Giles, central London, in April 1863.
She had five wounds to the throat and had not been robbed. The case was never solved.
Mr Marriott also uncovered a second case he believes may have been committed by the Ripper. Nine years after the Jackson murder, on Christmas Day 1872, Harriet Buswell was found with her throat slit at her lodgings in nearby Great Coram Street, after returning home the previous evening with a male guest. Both cases remain unsolved. Read more …
Ness ‘Hum’ Saga is a Global Issue
October 6, 2008 / 1659
The loch ness humming noise mystery has gone global. After our story last week on the unexplained phenomenon, the Highland News website was inundated with hits.
And an American scientist has revealed he has been carrying out international research into the strange noise after similar reports from around the world.
Our story triggered an immediate response from Kevin Barber in Mount Vernon, Washington, who endures the same problem highlighted by Loch Ness webcam master Mikko Takala. He now claims there is another Loch Ness mystery to solve.Mr Barber told the Highland News:
“I see these types of articles getting more attention these days, as they should. I am also a hum sufferer here in the USA. Read more …
Lost Mozart score found in France
October 5, 2008 / 7241
Rediscovered Mozart score: The score was authenticated last year
A previously unknown piece of music by Mozart has been discovered at a library in western France.
Ulrich Leisinger, head of research at the International Mozarteum Foundation in Austria, said the single sheet of music was “really important”.
“His handwriting is absolutely clearly identifiable,” he added. “There’s no doubt that this is an original piece handwritten by Mozart.”
The sheet was found among the archives by staff at a library in Nantes.
Mr Leisinger said the municipal Mediatheque library contacted his foundation to ask for help authenticating the work.
It’s a melody sketch so what’s missing is the harmony and the instrumentation, but you can make sense out of it
Ulrich Leisinger
The score appears to be for a “Credo in D major”.
There is a second piece which looked like a “first draft, in parts illegible,” said a library official.
It was part of the collection of Pierre-Antoine Laboucheroe, a 19th-century collector who donated his legacy to the city. Read more …
