Distribution rights for Bruno ‘Vincent Dawn’ Mattei’s Zombies: The Beginning (Zombi: la creazione) are to be offered for sale by FilmExport Group s.r.l. at this year’s Marché du Film in Cannes; as was reported here on Twitch back on April 12th, distribution rights for his Island of the Living Dead (L’isola dei morti viventi) and The Jail: A Women’s Hell (Anime perse) - a.k.a. “The Jail: l’inferno delle donne” - are also to be offered for sale there by FilmExport Group. Zombies: The Beginning is a sequel to Island of the Living Dead.

Kristian Sinkerud the producer of last years surprise horror hit, the Norwegian slasher ‘Cold Prey’ has dropped us an email with the great news that filming has just wrapped on the follow up pic ‘Cold Prey 2.’ The sequels story follows directly after the bloody events of the first movie and apprently promises to be even more action packed.

10. Irreversible (Synopsis, Review, Trailer)

Irreversible is not a film, it’s a machine. A machine built with one purpose and one purpose only: to upset, distress, nauseate, and disturb you. From the queasy camera movements, to the hypnotizing soundtrack, to the reverse narrative, to the violent and disturbing imagery, Irreversible is not a film that you will easily forget.

Though there are only two really sick scenes in the film, (a harrowing, violent, and seemingly never-ending rape, and the infamous fire-extinguisher-bludgeon scene), they are so well done, and so shocking - especially in the context of the story - that we felt compelled to include Irreversible on this list. Rarely has a title been so appropriate; once you have seen this film, you cannot un-see it, and its effect on your will be forever Irreversible.
