How To Apply A Pantomime Mask Make-up for Halloween

How To Apply A Pantomime Mask Make-up for Halloween: This is my 1st Halloween makeup tutorial, of hopefully many. Five are already filmed and edited and ready to go; I’ll be working on more looks until end of October so that you will have lots of ideas for costumes and makeup to go with it of course. The sad thing is, Halloween isn’t even really celebrated where I live! Boo hoo
Oh well, I will live vicariously through my viewers and friends.
The first look is a simple but effective mask tutorial inspired by Pantomime theater, especially by the French mime character Pierrot, the sad clown. The typical depiction of Pierrot is a white face, and sad eyes with tears running down his face - these were the main themes of this look.
Costume ideas: You can wear the traditional Pierrot garb which is loose fitting white clothes with a ruffled collar, or you can just wear all black clothes, white gloves, and a black French beret. You could even make this look more feminine and daring by wearing a sexy black dress and doing a fun hair updo.

How To Apply A Mother Earth Make-up For Halloween Video Tutorial

How To Apply A Mother Earth Make-up For Halloween Video Tutorial: This look is for a contest entry for MakeupbyTiffanyD’s contest on Youtube. The theme of the contest was to create a tutorial for a look inspired by a movie. The movie I chose is Baraka, a 1992 documentary about the Earth, nature, and humankind. It is a visually stunning compilation of cinematography and music, filmed by a three person crew over a period of 14 months in 24 countries across 6 continents. It is one of my favorite films and worth seeing on the silver screen if you can see it at a repertoire cinema.
I chose to incorporate elements of nature, growth, night and day into this look, and mirrored the theme into my hair where I used leaves, vines and red apples to create a tousled updo. I have to say, a well-stocked craft store is a veritable goldmine for makeup artists who want to get creative! I sometimes just browse around my local craft store and come up with ideas.

“Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF” has become a common sight during Halloween in North America. Started as a local event in a Philadelphia suburb in 1950 and expanded nationally in 1952, the program involves the distribution of small boxes by schools (or in modern times, corporate sponsors like Hallmark, at their licensed stores) to trick-or-treaters, in which they can solicit small-change donations from the houses they visit.
