Halloween Event: Workshops By Witch School At The Annual Pasychic Fair And Witchcraft Expo Throughout October

Throughout October, 2009, at the Psychic Fair in The Museum Place Mall
Located at 176 Essex Street in historic downtown salem!
Join the Salem Witches for enchanting lessons in the magical arts, featured from 7pm – 9:30pm on specially chosen days throughout the month of October at the Annual Psychic Fair and Witchcraft Expo at the Museum Place Mall! These workshops are for adults and teens who want to further their skills in magic! All workshops are $30 and are taught by practicing Salem Witches.

The wisdom of the strega—ancient Italian sorcery—is infused into the lives of those bold families who dared to practice the magical arts in the face of religious authorities who challenged them. Magic is woven through the lives of every Italian Witch: from the food they cook to the love they make to the spells they whisper into the night winds. Robust and zesty, this workshop is designed not only to give you the facts of the Strega but also to give you a taste of the exotic flavor brewing in this unique form of hereditary witchcraft.

Halloween Event: Ms. Firefly’s School For Little Witches

An Enchanting Workshop for Children!
Join Salem’s own Ms. Firefly, headmistress of Salem’s own School for Little Witches, as she teaches kids to work the ancient arts of Witchcraft! Magic comes easy to children because they have not yet learned to ignore their connection to the otherworld. Ms. Firefly, along with her assistant Auntie Rattlebones, will help students to understand that magic is not to be feared but rather a powerful way to improve your life. Kids will learn to learn to cast their own spells in a way that’s educational and fun!

With the help of Witchcraft, children are able to conquer fears, make new friends, enhance creativity, and discover the hidden wonders of the invisible world. Each child will be taught how to channel their own inner power to help them achieve success in life and build self-esteem.

Each Child Will:

• Learn to banish nightmares with nightmare begone spray!
• Decorate their own Spirit Rattle—used during playtime or study time to summon spirit friends!
• Learn the power of masks in magic—with a mask they can take home!
• Make their own magic wand for focussing spirit energy.
• Learn about ancestral altars by making magical spirit frames in which to place pictures of their loved ones.
• The event will feature an ice cream buffet, hot cocoa and cider, as well as coffee for the adults!

Understanding the real world of Witchcraft will help children to find the hidden magical truths woven into such popular fantasy books as Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and the Chronicles of Narnia. Imagination is the key to magic and we learn to whisper our wisdom on the wind. Ms. Firefly will teach your children that magic is a worthwhile part of everyday life!

The evening begins with the feast of the last supper, where you live as though this were your last day on earth. Attend a graveside funeral where you’ll be forced to face the shroud of your own mortality and descend into the depths of despair. Throughout the evening, we’ll relive the final passing of martyrs and murderers and discover the surprising choices they made as they faced the reality of their journey beyond the veil of death. Join Salem Witches Leanne Marrama and Heather MacDonald for Salem’s annual Mourning Tea, a modern take on a grand Victorian tradition in honor of the dearly departed and the Pale Gentleman who will greet us all at the end of our days.

Don your finest mourning attire and hearken back to a time when mourning customs were elaborate and extravagant. Music will fill the air with sweet sorrow as the resident bards of the long black veil recite a selection of odes to the somber beauty of Death’s final waltz.
