Halloween is just a week away and some people (such as me) are still scrambling for costumes. But a week is not enough to feel the desperation of needing to buy a mass-produced costume off the rack just yet. That’s why I put together this handy guide of easy-to-build costumes for those that still haven’t made up their minds.

This is for all the athletes that tend to dress up as, well… athletes. Luckily, the Beijing Olympics has graced us this year and there is no greater Olympic hero than Michael Phelps. For those confident enough to sport only a Speedo and eight gold medals or for those who don’t want to wear anything more than a Speedo, this one is for you.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a man or woman, Hispanic or Australian. If you’re wearing a beehive hair nest, it’s a guarantee that others will recognize you as Amy Winehouse. The easiest thing about building this costume is that no shoes are necessary!

Halloween Adventure Stores (also known as Masquerade, LLC) is a retail store chain specializing in Halloween-related merchandise.

The company was founded in 1981 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has locations in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Florida, and California. In 2006 there were over 120 “seasonal stores”, using temporary locations in shopping malls that were vacated for seasonal short-term rentals.
