Halloween 2009 Events: Tybee Island Lighthouse Tour Savannah, Georgia October 16, 23, and 30

In our continuing efforts to provide you, our guests, with unique and exciting opportunities in the world of paranormal investigation, American Ghost Tours, LLC, parent company of Orlando Ghost Tours, Inc. and Southern Ghosts, is proud to announce the launch of our brand new investigative tour of the historic and haunted Tybee Island Lighthouse and Museum, just outside the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia.

Beginning with select dates in October, we will be conducting regular 2-hour tours of the Tybee Lighthouse that will focus primarily on paranormal investigation. During the tour, you will of course learn all the tremendous history of this amazing light tower and hear many fascinating tales of ghostly encounters had inside the lighthouse and museum buildings. But, you will also receive a working education in parapsychology, the science behind investigating paranormal phenomena. Then, you will get to put that new education to use as we let you explore certain parts of the property and allow you to conduct a brief investigation using real equipment! You will actually get to go INSIDE actual haunted buildings like the lighthouse, the Head Keeper’s Cottage, and the Assistant Head Keeper’s Cottage.

This country has long-boasted an amazing collection of beautiful and historic lighthouses on both coasts. For centuries they have lit the way for ships of all sizes and countries of virtually every origin. Along the way–as historic buildings often do–these majestic structures have accumulated a great many ghost stories and tales of unusual experiences. The light station at Tybee Island is no exception. After successfully investigating the St. Augustine Lighthouse, American Ghost Tours is extremely excited to have the chance to continue our research at such an amazing and engaging property as the Tybee Island Lighthouse and Museum.

Tybee Island is located just east of one of the most haunted cities in the world, Savannah, Georgia, and the site of American Ghost Tours’ ongoing series of investigative tours that began June 3rd, 2009. Georgia’s first city, Savannah was founded in 1733 by General James Oglethorpe as America’s 13th and final colony. The elegance and refinement with which Savannah blends its Southern nuances makes this destination a perfect combination of old-world beauty and modern-day charm. In addition to its amazing architectural details and grandiose city squares, Savannah has intoxicated countless visitors with its culture, shopping, and recreational activities during the day along with great dining and entertainment during the evenings, making it one of this country’s most popular travel destinations.

And now you have a chance to explore a side of this part of the country that you only thought you knew. The Tybee Island Lighthouse is a true jewel of the coastal south and, like its neighbor Savannah, is steeped in a rich history and shrouded in great mystery.

As with all of our tours and events, we do encourage photography of all kinds. The only thing we ask is that if you do happen to capture something interesting on film, video, or audio, please let us have a copy of it for our records and research.

If you are an avid ghost hunter, you are always welcome to bring your own equipment.

Each tour starts at 8pm and lasts approximately 2 hours. The prices are $25 for adults, $20 for senior citizens and college students, and $15 for law enforcement, military personnel, and children ages 7-12. Our tours are family friendly so children under the age of 7 are certainly welcome and absolutely free of charge.
