Chinese Lanterns or UFO Disinformation ?
September 29, 2009 / 3000
A bloke is out walking the dog or heading back from the pub and he sees glowing orange lights or orbs floating in the sky, sometimes a lone light sometimes a group. Often, if not always, reference will be made to a flame in the centre of the orb. Almost all witnesses will also mention the fact that the orbs were silent and ‘eerie’. Usually they will be reported to have been floating at about the height of a ten story building.
Time and time again these orange orbs have been shown to be undoubtedly Chinese lanterns, sold in packs of three or thirty. As they have no engine, unsurprisingly they float silently buoyed by hot air created by a flame: basically mini hot air balloons.
