The PlayStation and PlayStation 2 Games PS3 Themes (24 Pics)

This is a list that shows all the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 games that are backwards compatible with the Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3). This list is updated as new PS3 firmware editions are released by Sony. The 40GB, 80GB re-release and the upcoming 160GB version of the PS3 are not backwards compatible with some PS2 games because all hardware chips from the former console are omitted.

The Guitar Hero series’ games themselves are compatible, but the connector mounted on its special controller originally was not, due to the PS3’s lack of ports for PS2 accessories. With the release of third party USB-to-PS2 adapters, the games are now fully playable.
