How to Make Edible Eyeballs for Halloween

October 31, 2009 / 2911

There is nothing like edible body parts to add fun to a Halloween party. Make these edible eyeballs in advance and store them in the freezer until you are ready to serve them. For added fun, let the kids join in when making them.Things You’ll Need:

* Plastic eggs
* Lifesaver Gummies
* Jelly Beans
* Vanilla pudding
* Empty egg cartons

Instructions / Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Separate your plastic eggs into halves. Use the smallest half of the eggs for making your eyeballs.

Step2
Insert a jelly bean into the center of each LifeSavers Gummies candy. Then place one of the filled Gummies candies into the center of each egg half.

Step3
Prepare a package of vanilla instant pudding according to package directions. Fill the egg cups with the pudding by spooning the pudding on top of the candies.

Step4
Place the plastic eggs into an empty egg carton and put the carton in the freezer to firm them for around 3 hours. Remove the eggs from the freezer and allow them to sit at room temperature for 3 to 5 minutes.

Step5
Use the handle of a fork of the blade of a butter knife to gently press down on the edge of the pudding and roll the frozen eye ball out of the plastic egg. Place the eye balls into a covered container and put them back in the freezer until you are ready to serve them

Tips & Warnings

* Instead of jelly beans, you could also use plain or peanut M&Ms or chocolate chips to make the center of your eyeballs.
* Make extra edible eyeballs and let the kids bring them to school to share with their friends on Halloween.
